Has your pet got what it takes?

Has your pet got what it takes?

This month Alnorthumbria Veterinary group are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new charity campaign. The first of its kind within the practice, the search to find ‘The Face of Alnorthumbria Pets 2015’ will be a North East wide photography competition with all proceeds raised going to several local animal charities.

Sit Stay Capture, one of the most popular professional dog photographers in the North East will be on hand to take the photographs at various events throughout the year. It’s only a £1.00 donation to enter and every single penny raised will be split between the following charities; Safe Homes and Kindness (SHAK), Alexa’s Animal Rescue, Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels (BARK), Red Squirrels Northern England and Mates United Siberian Husky Events & Rescue (MUSHER).

Rebecca Ashworth, who is organising the event for Alnorthumbria Vets, commented on the competition,

“I’m extremely excited to be involved in this competition and, looking at the prizes, I wish I could enter my own pet! I’m looking forward to meeting lots of pets from around the North East and with entries already in, I’m very glad not to be judging! We are hoping to raise as much money as possible, and with the competition open to all, we really want to see everyone getting involved. You can come and see Alnorthumbria Vets at their stand at Glendale Show on the 25th August and enter on the day, where they will also have goodie bags for the first 100 dogs to enter.”

Prizes already include everything from dog grooming to day care, photoshoots to pet portraits, treats and toys to hampers of goodies. Winning pets will also feature on some of our 2015 literature.

Paul Freeman, Small Animal Director of Alnorthumbria Vets, commented;

“We are enormously grateful to all the companies that have rallied to donate prizes and sponsorship and hope it will act as a great incentive for people to enter their pets.  With photoshoots arranged at all our surgeries we are hoping to see lots of dogs, cats, rabbits and even those with more exotic pets that aren’t camera shy. The more money we can raise, the more animals in need we can help.”

A full list of sponsors and prizes can be found online alongside details on your nearest event and how you can get involved, just visit You can also find Alnorthumbria Pets on Facebook to see the latest entries. The competition is not limited to clients of Alnorthumbria Vets.
